Welcome to Her Thread Lives On! I’m Heather, and this space is stitched together with love, memory, and a little bit of courage. My grandma was the one who taught me how to sew, guiding me patiently through my first uneven stitches. She showed me that sewing is more than fabric and thread — it’s a way to create, connect, and carry on traditions.
When I lost her, I also lost a piece of myself. In my depression, I bought a mountain of sewing supplies, telling myself I’d use them someday — but I couldn’t bring myself to start. The tools just sat there, waiting.
Now, I’m ready. I’m relearning how to sew from the ground up, making my own clothes, and documenting every step — the wins, the mistakes, and the lessons — through Her Thread Lives On. This isn’t just about sewing; it’s about reclaiming joy, honoring my grandma’s legacy, and proving it’s never too late to pick up the thread again.
Here you’ll find sewing projects, live demonstrations, product finds, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of my progress. Whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned maker, or someone simply looking for a little inspiration, I hope you’ll feel at home here.
Let’s sew, share, and bring our stories to life — one stitch at a time.
